Maintenance Statuses

Maintenance status describes the state of a service record. It does not automatically change the vehicle status in Fleet.

Status reference

StatusUse it when scheduledThe service is planned for a date but work has not started. in_progressThe vehicle is currently being serviced or inspected. completedThe service work is finished and the record can be treated as closed. cancelledThe planned service was cancelled and should not be treated as completed.

Vehicle availability

If the car should not be assigned to bookings, update the vehicle in Fleet to maintenance or unavailable. A maintenance record alone is service history; vehicle status controls booking readiness.

Dashboard alerts

The main dashboard shows maintenance alerts for maintenance records that are not completed. Completing records helps keep alerts focused on open work.
